<p>It sounds like this is a problem with how cx_oracle is returning data from your queries.</p>
<p>I found <a href="https://bytes.com/topic/python/answers/460325-cx_oracle-utf8">this link</a> which discusses a similar issue. You can see if it’s possible to modify the settings on your Oracle database to return results in UTF8 format. Alternatively, it may be possible to modify the Redash source code in <code>oracle.py</code> to set the return format whenever Redash connects.</p>
