If you’ve been following along #4092, you know that we are aiming at replacing Celery with RQ for all of Redash’s task executions.

Current status, now that #4093 has been merged to master is that master is in a sort of “hybrid” state, where query executions are still running in Celery’s turf, but all other tasks have been migrated to RQ.

While master is usable, we’re aiming on completing the migration of all tasks to RQ soon and you’ll probably be better off waiting for Celery to be wiped off the codebase entirely before setting up any installation based on master while it’s in this state.

If you must set things up with master right now and are facing any difficulties related to the RQ/Celery duality, feel free to reach out and we’ll gladly help.
