I’m in Chrome on Mac. How do I select a different visualization type?

Hi,

To create a new visualization type you don’t need to change the type of the table visualization but to create a new one. You should have a “+ New Viaualization” button on the query page.

If you don’t see it, it might be one of two:

  1. You’re on the data only view of the query. In this case, switch to source view to see the button.
  2. You didn’t create this query. Currently only the query creator can add new visualizations.

We see this issue popping up almost every week (so it’s a kinda serious UX issue) so we’ll address this in the near future.

I had the same issue, couldnt figure out why it was greyed out. Thanks to this thread, I know how to use it now.

By the way, we did some improvements here which should make this cleaner: https://github.com/getredash/redash/pull/2585

We have plans to improve this even further.
