No. And I doubt we will add it, as it provides false sense of security – the API still sends a JSON representation of the data. So the user can always get the results in an easy to read format. That beside the fact that they can just copy/paste from the screen.
Generally speaking more flexibility is better than less. This is a good feature idea. But it hasn’t been contributed by anyone in the community and is not a priority for the core team.
Redash is an OSS tool. If people want to take the data to a different tool we can presume it’s because that tool is a better fit for their needs. We want to know what we can do to make Redash better for more use-cases. But we’re not trying to prevent anyone from accessing / working with their data.
