It would be really nice if the markdown visualization of tables works for text widgets on dashboards. Have had a few scenarios where this would be very helpful.

Currently we’re using markdown-js library, which has some dialect with tables support (but I don’t know what surprises may be there with other features). But since markdown-js no longer supported (according to its readme), maybe it makes sense to replace it with something else (e.g. markdown-it)

Yes, markdown-js is no longer maintained. It would be good to have a modern parser that support table, mermaid, etc.
