Can some one help on resolving the below error.

Issue Summary

MS SQL Server express 20664bit
Data source New Connection - Failure

Technical details:

  • Redash Version: 8.0.0
  • Browser/OS: Chrome/ Windows 10
  • How did you install Redash: Docker

I am trying to connect to my db sql but when i create the datasource , it returns me an error. I have no problems if I connect through the sql console.

Input (server 127.0.0.1\SQLEXPRESS port 1433)
error b’DB-Lib error message 20009, severity 9:\nUnable to connect: Adaptive Server is unavailable or does not exist (127.0.0.1\SQLEXPRESS)\n’

I’m not certain SQL Express is supported. But the current issue is your server is on localhost (127.0.0.1) which Redash can’t see unless you’ve specifically installed SQL Server Express within the same docker container running Redash. Otherwise 127.0.0.1 just points back into the Docker container.
