Would like to propose that forcing to refresh the base queries removes control from the user. While not forcing the refresh delegates control to the user and what he/she setup for the base queries.
So what I’m doing really is proposing to not force refresh the base queries and trust the user knows best what he’s doing. As it is, redash overules what we are trying to do.

Yep, this feature will be very helpful.
Tried to do this myself by changing query_result.py
data source. But I failed, lack of knowledge

I think this is implemented on v6 beta:

The Query Results data source can now load cached results, just use the
cached_query_

.
