TL;DR https://github.com/SpokeyWheeler/redash-mac

I’ve tried following every install process documented officially and several that were described in blog posts, etc.

It’s just way too hard to stand up redash on a Mac.

I’ve been down every rabbit hole of installing different versions of node, etc. (attempting to get a developer install going) and I’ve been frustrated at every turn. One of my colleagues has reported similar difficulties, so it’s not just me.

I don’t for the life of me understand why the docker-compose up doesn’t just work, why is it trying to build redash from scratch when there’s allegedly a perfectly good docker image that can just be pulled? I’m not trying to become a redash contributor, I just want to run redash on my Mac in a self-contained environment!

So anyway, https://github.com/SpokeyWheeler/redash-mac

Congrats on your new repo. Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with it. The majority of Redash development setups are run on Mac without issue so I’m guessing there’s something unique about your environment that disagrees with Docker.

I understand if you’d rather be done with it altogether. But if you can share more info about the struggles you faced perhaps the forum can help you debug.

Either way, welcome to the forum!
